Here's a cute little time-waster for you. Use the left and right arrow keys on the number pad to jump back and forth on the telephone wires, and keep your bug running as long as you can. Pointless and silly, but a little addictive.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, from Injoy, is a puzzle game where the objective is to match gems on a board.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz separates itself from other matching games by having several power-ups and unique impediments to matching gems. Freeing three munchkins will give the player diagonal matching ability. Unlocking a fire ball or lion will clear a large section of the board. In higher levels, players will be challenged by vines that hold gems in place.
As you progresses through ten 5 level chapters of the game, the background changes to illustrate different parts of the story, The Wizard of Oz. Yes, you can save your progress.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is rated E for Everyone.

This phrase was originally one of Woodrow Wilson's as he envisioned the League of Nations following WWI. It came up again following WWII and the creation of the United Nations and NATO. It arose again with Mikhail Gorbachev at the end of the Cold War. Finally, George H. W. Bush used it in a speech to the Joint Houses of Congress on 9/11/1990.
But what exactly does 'New World Order' mean? And what plans have been set in place that successfully achieve whatever your concept is of a 'new world order?'

I was sent a note home from my daughters school late last year which asked for me to sign a form which asked me if I agreed for my daughter to get sex education. All I can say is that I do not even know were the note is today, but I will say that my daughter is not going have her mind corrupted at age 4.
This has been in the news since Friday.I have told my wife that this is the issue that I feel strongly about, and I will join any pressure group that wants to stop the Satanists from corrupting our children.I wonder if there are any more concerned parents out there that thinks like I do?

Why is barbless hook catch and release fishing less moral than catching and eating? It gives the fisherman sport and the fish life.
The majority of fish who are hooked, hauled out of the water by the pressure of a hook in the soft tissue of their mouth, esophogus, or stomach, picked up and held tightly in human hand while the hook is extracted and perhaps having its slime layer, scales, skin, and even internal organ damaged, are able to struggle and swim away vigorously when released, only to die hours or days later from the trauma and infection that sets into their wounds.
Releasing caught fish is a false act of charity. The fish are maimed and many die as a result of the "sport" of catching them with a sharp metal hook and lifting them out of the water and squeezing them.
To throw them back in only to fish again is 1) throwing away food and litter the pond, lake, or brook with rotting dead fish that will be there long after you left the scene, and 2) actually pretty cruel, if you take a thought for such things. Better to catch you fish and club it to death outright, and go home with a cooler full of fish to fry or freeze. And quit when you're done.
Catching fish and throwing them back for "sport" is like eating a heavy meal, going out back to vomit and purge, and coming back to eat up full again. It's piggish. The purpose of fishing is to catch fish. Catch your alotted amount and go home to a fish fry, sportsman.

I believe an incident similar to this came up in a forum before, but I haven't been able to find it.
On June 19, 2008, a 49 yr. old Jamaican woman collapsed and died on a waiting room floor at Kings County Medical Center, a phychiatric hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where she had been involuntarily committed 24 hours previously for 'agitation and depression.' She died in full view of security cameras, security guards, other waiting patients and medical personnel.
While the security tape shows her lying, with no movement, before 6am, her hospital record says that she was up, walking about, and had even gone to the bathroom at 6am. Obviously, the record was written after the fact.
Now, the following is conjecture, but is it possible that she'd been picked off the street by a police patrol unit and taken to the hospital? That would explain the 'involuntary' committment and the 'diagnosis' of 'agitation and depression,' wouldn't it? It might also explain her acquiescent behavior during the 24 hrs she spent waiting for a bed.
Since the hospital is a county facility, it would be financed by tax moneies, wouldn't it? Ergo, its patients wouldn't have health insurance and probably wouldn't have anywhere else to go.
What sort of health care system is that?

On July 2, 1776 the Continental Congress voted to declare their independence from Great Britain. Two days later, on July 4, the Congress approved the wording of the final draft of the Declaration of Independence which was the formal statement explaining why the thirteen American colonies, which had been at war with England for over a year, were no longer a part of the British Empire.
On July 3, John Adams, a delegate to the Congress from Massachusettes and future 2nd President of the United State, wrote a letter to his wife, Abigail, regarding the historic vote that took place the day before:
"It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Day's Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not."

This story is from the Fool Moon news feed on the right. It's an interesting twist on migrating for labor.
For quite some time, there have been small groups of Americans farming in Brazil. Recently, their numbers have been climbing. Young American farmers and their families are moving to Brazil to farm because it's cheaper than doing it in America. With the lower cost of living in Brazil, land can be had for thousands of dollars less per acre than in America and farm hands work for less, while still earning a wage of the going rate or higher. Americans who could only work a small plot in the US can farm and/or manage the farming of 20,000+ acre operations in Brazil.
Soy and cotton are popular crops on these American farms. That product is then sold in Brazil, the US and around the world.
The Americans interviewed said they are liking the experience. They like having warmer and longer growing seasons. The Americans say there are challenges; such as learning the language and the pace of business. It seems the Brazilian bureaucracy moves even slower than America's.
Some Brazilians complain that Americans are buying up Brazil and raising the cost of land. For the most part though, it appears the Americans are welcome. LEM's mayor, Oziel Oliveira, had this to say when asked if Americans were welcome to farm in Brazil, "Absolutely. They're turning into Brazilians."

The Columbian insurgency group, FARC, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia, were duped by Columbian military commandos into giving up Ingrid Belancourt and 3 American contractors--along with 11 Columbian soldiers and policement--in a bloodless rescue operation. FARC, it's said, felt that Belancourt and the contractors were its main bargaining points in dealing with the Columbian government. Apparently, FARC was infiltrated at high levels by the Columbian military and were never aware of the ruse.
Does this mean the end of FARC?

Should motorcyclists be required by law to wear a helmet while operating a motorcycle?
Before I rode a motorcycle, my opinion was no. That opinion has not changed now that I do ride a motorcycle. However, I do wear a helmet. It is my personal preference to do so and I'll tell you why.
Helmets save lives.
People who don't wear helmets offer up several flimsy excuses.
It will limit my field of vision and that's less safe than not wearing a helmet. I wear a 3/4 modular helmet. It covers my entire head and face. The front 'jaw' flips up and so does the visor. With the jaw and visor both down, I have no problem seeing. If the visor gets dirty or scratched, flip it up until you can clean or replace it. Many helmets have replaceable visors.
I can't hear with a helmet on. A 3/4 or full face helmet does block some sound. All 3/4 modulars can be flipped up and most full faces have flip up visors. With the front up, more sound gets through. Helmets with less coverage, skid lids, don't cover your ears at all. Even a skid lid is safer than no lid. Besides, a helmet does not make one deaf. Most of the sound it blocks out is the sound of the rider plowing through the air. Many riders say that having that sound cut down allows them to better hear important sounds; like horns, squalling tires and their own bike.
My glasses don't fit with a helmet on. I wear glasses. In the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course, we wore 3/4 open face helmets. Helmets were mandatory in The Course. Most of us wore glasses, both prescription and sun glasses, with no problem. I did find that wearing glasses with a fixed jaw full face helmet was very difficult. With my modular, it is no problem. No problem at all.
Helmets hurt my head/neck. You are wearing the wrong helmet. It does not fit you correctly. Most commonly this complaint comes from wearing a helmet that is too small. A helmet should fit snug. There should be firm, gentile pressure on your head and not much sliding around. It should not squeeze your head like a python is trying to kill you. The more of your face a helmet covers is the more pressure you will feel. The less of your face it covers is the more of the road you will feel if you go sliding across it on your face. Don't worry. The pain stops when you die. Also, try helmets with different amounts and configurations of padding.
A helmet will break your neck in a crash. Again, this goes to wearing the right size. If it fits properly, it should not snap your head and neck around in a crash. The added weight of a helmet is not very much. A rider is far more likely to suffer serious head injury or death from crashing without a helmet than they are to have their neck broken with a helmet on.
Helmets are hot. Yeah, and cement is hard. Get a helmet with sweat wicking lining and vents. I've ridden in 99F heat. My head does sweat some. With the head and jaw vents open, it's really not so bad. Flip open your visor. Try a helmet with no visor, if you really feel you must. Take off your helmet at a stop light to cool off. Use caution though. The cager behind you may not stop. When it's cold out, you'll enjoy the warmth of a helmet.
I've been riding since you were in diapers. Don't worry about me, bro. Hey. Cool. You're a bad ass. You'll be a bad ass and in diapers again when you wipe out bare headed, bro.
In The Course, we were taught to always wear our helmet. Our instructors did and they are certified instructors who have been riding since they were in diapers, bro. I can't think of one reason not to wear a helmet. I do know I've got a much better chance of retaining the ability to think since I do wear one.
Jackets, pants, boots and riding suits are also good options. I have been riding around town and briefly on interstate with only a helmet, leather boots that cover my ankles, a long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The helmet is the most important piece. Before I take to commuting to work on the highways and interstate, I will have a padded textile jacket and am considering riding pants. I may look 'all duded up' but, I'll be alive to look that way.
Seriously, for safety sake, it does make more sense to have helmet laws than not to. I'm just not about getting up in your business. You wanna be a bad ass jack ass dumb ass, go ahead. Me? I'm protecting my head.

An upcoming edition of the New York Times Magazine this weekend will announce that syndicated radio host, Rush Limbaugh has just resigned his contract with "Clear Channel" and "Premiere Radio through 2016. Limbaugh's show has been described as "the most lucrative hours since radio's inception."
According to some radio insiders, this new package is valued at over $400 million, while NY Times Magazine is reportedly going to reveal that Limbaugh is making an estimated $38 million a year.
His earnings now pace him ahead of the annual salaries for network news anchors Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer — combined!
