My 15 month deployment to Iraq is coming down to the last few months. When we got here, things where at best questionable. But as time went on, things improved greatly. I, myself, must admit, I am impressed with our accomplishments. When I say our, I mean every soldier, marine, airmen and sailor, who has come before us, currently serving along side us, and those who still have yet to serve. I am proud to have been apart of this and proud to be an American!
I also want to remind everyone of those who were wounded or died, to pray for those families and the fallen comrad.............May your deed never be forgotten!
Amen!

Last night, I felt as if someone or something was watching me sleep. I opened my eyes, standing next to the side of my bed, I saw something looking at me. I screamed! My husband jumped up, got out of bed, turned on the lights! I was yelling there was somebody standing at the side of our bed. My husband told me there wasn't...But It was there one minute and gone the next!!! I had the distinct feeling that it wanted to hurt me...As though it wanted to capture me! This is the second time this month this has happened to me. I don't know what to make of it. I don't know whether I'm making a fuss about nothing! How should I feel about it?
I'm wondering has anyone had a similar experience?

To expand on comments made in another topic I am prepared to discuss specific claims made by suporters of the Gnostic Gospels.
This are documents foundin a jar at Nag Hammadi These were written in Coptic script but may have been copies of documets written in Greek the language of the New Testament. They were not all complete and there are gaps in them.
"Some reasoned that since these gospels were heterical ,they must have been written later that the gospels of the New Testament which is dated c 60-110. But recently Professor Helmut Koerester of Harvour University has suggested that the collections of sayings in the Gospel of Thomas athough compiled in c 140 may include some traditions even older than the gospelsof the New Testament" the Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels
I do not think that when eritten they were heretical. The gospels were not known at this time. They were not condemned at the council Of Nicea but were not accepted as part of The Bible.
Msry Magadalene was a saint, with churches named after her.The suggestion that she was married to Jesus is very old and poceeds these discoveries. I do not think the Gospel of Thomas proves this.

Sen. John McCain once said of his sellout to Charles Keating Jr. (and the $2.6 Billion Lincoln Savings and Loan bailout) was like "...helping the little lady who didn't get her Social Security." The 17,000 or so investors in Lincoln S&L ended up losing somewhere around $190 million...some of these might have actually been little ladies on Social Security.
From 1982-1987 John McCain received $112,000 from Charles Keating and his associates. Years later he made a contribution to the taxpayers in that amount. John also had taken 9 trips at Keating's expense, some of these were on Keating's private jet. John and Cindy also vacationed at Keatings lavish home in the Bahamas. Cindy and her father, Jim Hensley, invested $359,000 in a Keating shopping center. Keating was eventually convicted and sent to jail.
When Keating was questioned about his contributions to McCain and the other four sellout Senators, he said, "One question, among many raised in recent weeks, had to do whether my financial support in any way influenced several political figures to take up my case. I want to say in the most forceful way I can: I certainly hope so."
MCCain has admitted that he exercised "poor judgement" in the Keating matter. Can we really trust a man who sells his office to the highest bidder? If he sold out as an Arizona Senator, what makes us think he won't exercise even poorer judgement as President? Cheating on his disabled wife for months before marrying Cindy, pushing for the deregulation of banks and financial institutions, and taking money and favors from white collar crooks like Keating. That's a helluva lot worse than having a kook ex-pastor. Rev. Wright didn't cost the U.S. taxpayers almost $3 Billion Dollars.

I kind of want to get people's opinions on psychics. I know everyone has questions about their lives. Will I get the job?; Will I have a happy life?; Does he love me?
The idea of a psychic is very alluring to people, they say they offer a glimpse into the future, or just to help you clear away your head so you can see your true path. I've been drawn to some, for better or worse.
Is there a grain of truth to some of them, I know there are a great number of frauds?

When a country like Mexico has to fund our debts, we are in trouble. If any of you are interested in how the bailout should have been done, please check how Sweden did it in the 1990's....Basically, Sweden nationalize many of the banks, paid off the bond holders, told share holders they lost the gamble....made her citizens owners. AND then sold off the banks' shares back to investors once the banks reached solvency.
Any thoughts?

What if your state was the last state to vote for POTUS. Now as far as the media is reporting your state is tied....pending your vote. You, the last voter, getting ready to cast your vote. Now it is tied between (lets have fun here) Sen. John McCain, Sen. Barack Obama, Ralph Nader, and Bob Barr. Now pending your vote, one of these men would become the next President of the United States.
Now with all this pressure on you, too include the media, who would you vote for?
Please no comments on "this couldn't happen". This is just a hypothetical question for yours and my enjoyment. TY

I've noticed that starting with the current financial crisis, when GWB speaks he appears distant, detatched and very weary.
I mentioned this in chat recently, and got no comment, but then I saw a few commentators on television say the same thing.
It isn't the kind of crisis-leadership I'd expect from a Chief Executive, although your opinion may differ.
Let's do some totally unprofessional analysis. What's wrong with this guy now? Is he defeated? Is he simply disassociaating himself from the current, almost unsolvable problems now plaguing us? Has he come to face the fact that his presidency was the most dismal failure in American history? Is he beginning to realize that history WON'T look kindly at him?
Or is he just a guy trying his best to do an impossible job that has finally overwhelmed him?

OJ was just convicted of armed robbery, kidnapping and conspiracy charges in Las Vegas, NV. He could quit possibly spend the rest of his life jail. Before the ruling he told a reporter he was feeling apprehensive. Could it be his conscious is finally relieved? Today, Oct. 3, 2008 is exactly 13 years after he was aquitted for double homocide.

a) Obama has still tons of money; McCain's piggy bank is getting empty
b) Obama has a better strategy than McCain
c) Obama has better advisors
d) Obama has appealing charisma and a pleasant voice. McCain does not.
e) Obama picked the better running mate
If Rove still manages to squeeze McCain into the White House - as he did Bush, TWICE - the man must be a genius from another planet.

A teacher was suspended after students said he used a racial epithet directed at presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Greg Howard, who teaches seventh grade at a Marianna, FL. middle school, reportedly wrote the word CHANGE on the blackboard during a discussion of Obama. Under each letter, he added a word, so CHANGE became an acronym for "Come Help A N-word Get Elected.
The incident happened last Friday at Marianna Middle School.
According to WFTV.com, "The Jackson County School Board said Friday that Howard has been suspended without pay for 10 days and will be transferred to the Jackson County Adult Education program. He is also required to submit a letter of apology to his students and attend diversity and sensitivity training."
Too much punishment, not enough, or just right?

We are under a Dictatorship openly.
Representative Brad Sherman (D-CA 27th) just said on CSPAN a few minutes ago that some Representatives were told that if they voted no on this bill Martial Law would be imposed on America.
Not the Congress version either, The real deal.
Unbelievable..
