"Weird News"

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Town Meeting. I'm a 22 year old Canadian university
student. I'm double majoring in English and Business Co-op, with a
Spanish minor. I love to travel and have spent a year in Japan, which
affects my views on politics quite a bit. I'm a Liberal, but only because
the NDP don't have a chance and the Cons scare me a bit sometimes. I tend
to yammer on things others would have ignored, and I tend to use weird
obscure slang which no one else recognizes, not even the other Canadians.
I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario; although, I go to school in
Waterloo and have worked in Toronto.
I plan to become an English teacher overseas. I have
worked in a couple jobs in that field already, and I hope to write
something nifty enough to get picked up by a publisher someday. I write
and read quite a bit, love to paint, watch movies, and hang around the
World News & Opinions forums.
The name 'Kiari' evolved out of my obsessive compulsion
with writing. I almost always have a story, or three, on the go and can
often be found scribbling frantically in a book when I ought to be doing
something else. Kiari began as a character, and then I realized I liked
the name and stole it from her. I tend to write fantasy, although I'm on
a supernatural kick that just doesn't seem to have an ending in sight.
I wandered onto Fool Moon at random a couple of years
ago, found I liked it, lurked for a bit, then bit the bullet, joined, and
never looked back. I encourage you to do the same and look around, find
something you disagree (or agree) with, and jump right in! You can join
me on Tuesday evenings at 8:00pm Eastern in the Town Meeting Room for my "Weird News". I mean,
hey, you get enough regular news during the day. I like to do the
"Man-bites-Dog" stories. However, I'm also a Moderator of the
World News and Opinion
in the Town Meeting Forums. If
you want to spend some quality time perusing our discussion topics and
add your own views, you're more than welcome.
